Toys and childcare articles: entry into force of a restriction on DIBP

Since 07 July 2020, DIBP shall not be used in toys and childcare articles as substance or in mixtures (individually or in any combination of DEHP, DBP or BBP) in a concentration equal to or greater than 0,1 % by weight of the plasticised material.
News text: 

Since 07 July 2020 diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP - CAS 84-69-5) is restricted for use in the production of toys and childcare articles :  this phthalate shall not be used as substance or in mixtures, individually or in any combination of DEHP (CAS 117-81-7), DBP (CAS 84-74-2) and BBP (CAS 85-68-7)  in a concentration equal to or greater than 0.1% by weight of the plasticised material of these articles.

The plasticised materials concerned in addition to PVC are: polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), polyvinyl acetate (PVA), polyurethanes, all other polymers (including polymer foams...) except silicone rubber and natural latex coatings.
