Description:
In this expert assessment published in October 2016 on toys and plastic equipment that can be mouthed by children under 3 years of age, ANSES* carried out a bibliographic synthesis enabling to identify possible alternatives to DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP (plasticizers of the phthalate family).
ANSES studied more precisely 5 of these substitutes (physico-chemical properties, regulation, presence in toys) and selected four for their safety for the health of children: acetylcitrate Tributyl (ATBC), diisononyl cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate (DINCH), bis (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate (DEHTP), 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol diisobutyrate ).
